  2. How does Red Label work?

    In the standard option, blinkx receives a video search query from your website and generates a standard results page branded with your logo and hosted by blinkx. blinkx uses the most advanced video search technology available to generate your results page and to match the most relevant ads to maximize the upside for each video query from your site. Moreover, we are able to fulfill almost all of the search results with our direct ad sales force and network advertising partners. We also offer an XML option that lets you configure and host the search results yourself.

  3. What do I need to do to get Red Label on my site?

    Please click on the link ‘Register to Red Label’ and follow the instructions on the Red Label registration site. Essentially, all you need to do is to point your site’s video search box to blinkx and we do the rest. In the standard option, you provide us with your site’s URL and logo, and we provide you with tailored XML code that you add to the video search section of your site. In the XML only option, we provide you with an XML feed that you tailor to your needs.

  4. How much revenue can I get from Red Label's video search results?

    That all depends on the volume, type and quality of your site’s video search queries. All queries can be monetized using cost-per-thousand (CPM) methods. At the low end of the spectrum we normally get around $4 CPM gross from ad network partners. Moreover, at the high end we can get upwards of $40 CPM where and when we can place ads directly. Different search result categories (e.g. news, sports, adult…) also deliver varying CPM and cost-per-click (CPC) rates.

  5. How can I customize my search result pages?

    In the branded hosted option you can send us the appropriate logo to add to the results page template. Our team will look at the logo to make sure it is placed correctly in the results page. In addition, you can narrow the search results to specific categories such as news, entertainment and/or sports and to limit the results to non-adult content only.

  6. How is user generated content handled?

    User generated content can be filtered out by selecting Professional Content Only on the configuration section of the Red Label site at any time. User generated content is rarely monetized unless there is an established agreement with an advertising network partner.

  7. How is adult content handled?

    Adult queries can be filtered out by selecting Safe Search on the configuration section of the Red Label site at any time. When appropriate, adult queries may be monetized using a cost-per-click (CPC) basis.
